AUGUST 21, 2006
Word Count:250

“Get me somebody from the CRTC.”

“What is it this time Mr. Day?”

“I want that song banned, burned and off the radio. Now!”

“Song sir?”

“How could a nice young Canadian girl sing a song like that?”

“Which song? Who are we talking about sir?”

“Nelly Furtado. What was she thinking?”

“Oh you’re talking about Promiscuous. It’s pretty good. I’ve got it on my MP3 player right here.”

“Here in this office? I won’t have it. Delete it now! It’s filled with dirty lyrics.”

“Well sir it might be considered suggestive but certainly not dirty or profane. Have a listen.”

“Get that thing away from me!”

“Have you even heard it sir?”

“Listen to it? Don’t be ridiculous. I’d no more listen to that than I would consider negotiating with those terrorists in Lebanon.”

“Speaking of that sir, how are we going to help negotiate a peace over there if we don’t speak with the Hezbollah?”

“Canada does not negotiate with terrorists.”

“But if we stopped calling them that, perhaps the peace process would move forward.”

“You must be new here. Listen son, we have a relationship with the United States. A committed relationship. They also have a relationship with Israel. Because of that, we have a relationship with Israel too.”

“Well sir, the way I see it, that is promiscuous.”
