“Scary, isn’t it Stephen?”
“A lot of things scare me. You’ll have to be more specific Stockwell.”
“The comments that came from the father of that suicide bomber.”
“Oh yes, that. They were very troubling.”
“What kind of a man would refer to the death of his son as good news?”
“I cannot fathom any father making a statement like that."
“Neither can I. The rhetoric that comes out of that place makes me glad I’m a Canadian.”
“I’m sure his comments sickened nearly every Canadian. I’ve always said that religion and politics don’t mix.”
“Well…er…”
“That’s another thing. If he was so proud, why didn’t he just do it himself? I mean, why send your most precious assets, your kids, to do a job you could be doing yourself? It’s such a waste. It’s chaos over there. The left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing.”
“I’m so proud of our armed forces.”
“As am I. I’m thinking of sending over more troops to support them. Heck if I was 20 years younger, I’d go myself.”
“So would I, but won’t that leave us vulnerable here at home?”
“Another reason why we’re arming our border guards.”
“Er…about that…”
“Is there a problem?”
“Well sir…it’s the Gun Registry. It’s still the law. It’s going to take a few years for all those permits to be issued.”
“Good Grief! Sometimes, even I wonder if we know what we’re doing.”
“Amen Stephen. Amen”
