SEPTEMBER 15, 2006
Word Count:250

“What about water torture? You know, single drops on the forehead, for hours at a time. Stagger the intervals? Drives ‘em crazy.”

“No.”

“How about the old bamboo shoots under the fingernails? I saw that in a movie once.”

“No.”

“Speaking of movies, I’ve seen this variation in a few of ‘em. We get an old rusty bedspring, tie the guy to it. Hook up some electricity and zap ‘em all over until they talk?”

“No.”

“Sodium pentathol. That’s my favourite. Works all the time in the movies. Heck they used it in a Schwarzenegger film and it worked like a charm. He showed those terrorists a thing or two, heh heh.”

“No.”

“Food deprivation?”

“No.”

“Mock executions?”

“No.”

“Sleep deprivation? You know, wake ‘em up every twenty minutes or so until they get so tired that they’ll talk?”

“No.”

“Cattle prods?”

“No.”

“How about we light up a cigarette, offer them one and then instead of giving it to them, we crush it out on their hands? Heck we could use that as an anti-smoking ad, maybe we can get the Surgeon General working on that one.”

“No.”

“I know. Snakes in their cells…on a plane? We could tell ‘em we’re flying them to another covert prison. Build a special cell on the plane and then, just as they are flying through a storm and are off course, we release poisonous snakes to keep them company?”

“No.”

“Dagnabbit Powell, you sure went soft since you quit working for me.”
